Protection for victims of child sex abuse seeking abortion. [VicHansard 3492 - 3498] - Robert Clark

This amendment would require reporting instances where there is grounds to believe that a young girl (17 years or less) seeking an abortion, is the victim of child-sex abuse.

Clause E of this amendment provides that in the case of the abortion proceeding — when there is no response to the report from child protection authorities after 72 hours — a tissue sample should be taken for forensic testing to help identify the perpetrator and stop the abuse occurring in the future.
